Several business owners are concerned about the smooth flow of tourist transportation, hotel guest shuttle services, and the distribution of operational supplies for accommodation.
The Head of the Badung Regency Tourism Office, Anak Agung Putri Mas Agung, S.T., stated that as of Wednesday morning (October 14, 2026), her office had not received any official reports regarding cancellations of tourist visits or tour packages in the Badung area.
"There have been no cancellation reports until this morning. I will provide another update later if there are new developments," said Putri Mas Agung.
Although no official cancellations have been reported, complaints from tourism industry players have begun to emerge. The Badung Tourism Office admitted to receiving many messages via WhatsApp questioning the government's measures to overcome the fuel supply disruption in Bali.
This situation indicates that the BBM issue is becoming a concern for tourism players, especially businesses reliant on land transportation. Fuel availability is crucial to support tourist mobility, airport pickups, travel to tourist destinations, and guest transfers to and from hotels.
The supply disruption is also feared to affect the delivery of various hotel operational needs. If prolonged, this issue has the potential to add obstacles for business owners in maintaining smooth service to tourists.
Putri Mas Agung revealed that there had previously been reports of several Russian tourists experiencing cancellations of tourism activities and out-of-island trips due to the BBM disruption. However, as of Wednesday morning, her office did not yet have official aggregate data on the number of cancelled tour packages, hotel reservations, or affected tourist visits in Badung.
"The latest update from travel agencies so far shows no cancellations for trips to Bali, especially Badung," she said.
To ascertain a more measurable impact, the Badung Tourism Office is currently conducting rapid data collection through associations and tourism industry players. This data collection is necessary to obtain an overview of business operational conditions and potential disruptions to tourist travel.
Through the collection of information from industry players, the local government hopes to identify the most affected sectors and determine appropriate handling measures based on on-the-ground conditions. As of now, no official figures are available describing the magnitude of the impact of BBM scarcity on Badung's tourism activities.
The restoration of BBM supply is a major concern for the sustainability of tourism activities.
